What Makes Calgary-area Fall Great for Seniors
As we move into fall, Calgary continues to be a great area for seniors for several reasons. There are plenty of things that make this season in Calgary a great one for seniors in independent living:
Perfect Weather
Early fall in Calgary is a great time to be outdoors enjoying the weather. Gone are the high temperatures of summer, and the freezing, snowy temperatures of winter have not arrived quite yet (but will soon). Seniors should get outside and take advantage of this while it lasts. This might be a perfect time to head for a walk in Prince’s Island Park and maybe enjoy a visit to The River Cafe.
Family Time
Perhaps the best part of fall is that many family gathering events are just around the corner. First, October means Thanksgiving and a chance to see family. If you still enjoy Halloween it is just around the corner as well. Of course, fall means Christmas is fast approaching as well.
Calgary Area Recreational Events
As summer ends and fall returns, many recreation centres begin to fill up their schedules with activities and programs catered toward seniors and varying interests. Whether you are interested in fitness, board games, or arts and crafts, recreational centres have something for everyone. Summer offerings are often limited as people vacation, but many new programs come with the return of fall in Calgary.
Fall is an exciting time for people of all ages, but especially for seniors living in Calgary. Make the most of this fall by trying something new, learning a new skill, or just going for a walk to enjoy the fall leaves.
